Teaching Methodology

The subject syllabus will be organized following the "Design Thinking" methodology, a method of innovation in 4 phases to generate innovative ideas, and teamwork (Team Based) in a Flipped Classroom model in which teachers, mentors and guests will accompany students in their learning through questions and facilitating contacts and learning suggestions. The subject consists of 3 hours a week of face-to-face classes. Typically, each 3-hour session will be spread out into two subsessions separated by a break. The first subsession corresponds to the theoretical expository class, in which the teachers present the basic concepts and materials of the subject and establish participatory debate. The second subsession is dedicated to the resolution of practical cases by the students, which are part of the project to be developed during the course in order to consolidate the general and specific learning objectives. Support material is used in the format of a detailed teaching plan through the ATENEA virtual campus: contents, programming of assessment and directed learning activities and bibliography. While most sessions will be conducted in the language indicated in the guide, sessions supported by other invited experts may be held in another language.

Grading Rules

The evaluation calendar and grading rules will be approved before the start of the course.

The grade of the subject is obtained from the grades of continuous assessment and the final project. Continuous assessment consists of carrying out different activities, both individual and group, of an additive and formative nature, carried out during the course (inside the classroom and outside) and participation in the debates generated in the classroom. Due to the practical nature of the subject, the evaluation will not be done by exam, but class attendance is mandatory. Students must do a group project with a total weight of 50% of the final grade. In addition, there are 5 assessable activities with a weight of 10% each, with a weight of 50% to the calculation of the final grade. Two are made and presented in the classroom and three are delivered through Athena. The weighted sum of the grades of these practices and activities is affected by a factor that quantifies class attendance. Those who do not achieve a grade of 5.0 in the continuous assessment may take a re-evaluation exam in which the different concepts worked on during the course will be evaluated. In order to take this exam, it will be necessary to have submitted all the practices and assessable activities. The maximum grade in the case of taking the re-evaluation exam will be five (5.0).
